Terms check

Do your terms and conditions, privacy and cookie texts still refer to repealed law? A list of findings, each with its source and date.

For whom

SMEs and liberal professions that publish their terms, privacy or cookie text on their website.

Why now

  • Book 5 of the Belgian Civil Code (obligations) has applied since 1 January 2023, the Companies Code abolished the bvba and the European ODR platform closed on 20 July 2025. Texts that still refer to the old law are out of date.
  • A missing company number or a reference to the privacy law of 1992 stands out to customers and partners.

What you get

  • I read the terms, privacy and cookie texts your website links to (at most three, each once).
  • A list of references to repealed law, such as old articles of the Civil Code, the bvba, the privacy law of 1992, art. 129 WEC or the closed ODR platform.
  • Missing mentions, such as the company number.
  • Every finding with its source and date.

Not included

  • Legal advice or an opinion on the validity of your terms: have them reviewed by a lawyer.
  • Rewriting your texts.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a legal review?
No. I search automatically, with a fixed list, for references and mentions. I do not know who you contract with or from when an agreement applies; a finding can be wrong or incomplete.
